At First Congregational Church of Bonham, our faith is rooted in the eternal truths of Scripture and the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. These core beliefs shape our worship, our community, and how we seek to live out our faith each day.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, written through human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is our primary authority for faith and practice, offering wisdom, truth, and encouragement for daily life.
God
We believe in one God who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is loving, just, and merciful, and desires a personal relationship with every person.
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, our Savior and Redeemer. Through His life, death, and resurrection, we are offered forgiveness, new life, and the promise of eternal hope.
Salvation
We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ. Through this grace, we are forgiven, transformed, and empowered to live lives that reflect God’s love.
Community
We believe faith is meant to be lived in community. Through fellowship, worship, and service, we encourage one another to grow in faith, love, and commitment to serving others.
As part of the First Congregational Church family, we invite you to explore these beliefs, ask questions, and join us as we grow together in faith and discipleship.
