In Loving Memory of Barbara Oliver
It is with heartfelt sadness that we share the passing of our dear church member, Barbara Lou Oliver. Barbara went to be with the Lord peacefully at her home in Bonham, Texas on June 30, 2025, at the age of 82.
Barbara was not only a devoted wife, mother, and “Mamaw,” but also a cherished part of our church family here at First Congregational Church of Bonham. Her faith was steady, her kindness was felt by all, and her warm smile greeted many of us Sunday after Sunday. She truly embodied the spirit of Christian love and service.
Barbara was married to her beloved husband, Don Oliver, for 63 beautiful years. Together, they built a strong, loving family that was the center of Barbara’s life. She was always present for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, celebrating their milestones and making countless memories along the way.
Beyond her love for her family and her church, Barbara served the community faithfully for many years as a TAPS bus driver, providing both transportation and friendship to those she met along the way. Her love for sewing, her special memories in Colorado, and her devotion to her family will be treasured by all who knew her.
A visitation to honor and celebrate Barbara’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2025, from 6:00-8:00 PM at First Congregational Church of Bonham. We invite our church family and the community to join us in remembering Barbara and in surrounding the Oliver family with our love and prayers.
Please continue to lift Don Oliver, their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family in your prayers during this difficult time. Barbara’s faith and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
